We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions from guests of our hotel. Hopefully you will find this information useful. If you have a question that is not on the list, please feel free to contact the hotel, it would be our pleasure to assist you.

1. Q: How do we get to the Holiday Inn Oshawa Whitby Conference Centre?

A: Take highway 401 west from Kingston or highway 401 east from Toronto, take exit number 419, Harmony Rd, head east on Bloor Street, the Holiday Inn is on the right hand side. Please refer to our Directions and Maps page for additional information.

2. Q: How close are you to Toronto?

A: Downtown Toronto is a 45 minute drive, depending on traffic, rush hour times are from 6 am to 10 am and 4 pm to 7 pm weekdays. Highway 401 West to the Don Valley Parkway South will take you right into Toronto. Please refer to our Directions and Maps page for additional information.

3. Q: What is there to do at the Hotel?

A: The Holiday Inn Oshawa Whitby Conference Centre is a full service hotel, on site we have an indoor pool, outdoor pool, fitness center, whirlpool, sauna, outdoor basket ball court, 10,000 sq. feet of meeting space, a full service restaurant and lounge. If there is anything you need one of our friendly guest service agents would be happy to help.

4. Q: What are check in and check out times?

A: Check in is at 3:00 pm and check out is at noon. If you need an earlier check in or a later check out please ask, it is not guaranteed but is available based on occupancy.

5. Q: Is there a charge for parking?

A: No, parking is free and we have plenty available for larger vehicles or vehicles that are towing boats/snowmobiles etc.

6. Q: Is there internet in the hotel?

A: Yes, we have complimentary high speed internet access in all of our guest rooms and board rooms, in the lobby and restaurant we also have free wireless internet.

7. Q: How can I pay for my room and do I need a credit card?

A: In order to be guaranteed for late arrival you will need to provide a credit card at time of reservation. If you do not wish to provide us with a credit card number while making your reservation we will hold your room until 6 pm on the day of arrival. If you have not arrived by 6 pm your reservation will automatically be cancelled. At check in you must provide a credit card that will pre-authorize for the entire amount, or pay the full amount upfront in cash, plus a $100 security deposit. If you have given us a credit card you can still pay cash or debit at check out.

8. Q: Do you allow pets?

A: Yes, Holiday Inn Oshawa Whitby Conference Centre is pet friendly. Please refer to our pet policy page for more information on bringing your pet with you.

9. Q: Where is a good place to eat?

A: Harper’s Restaurant and Lounge is located in the Lobby of the Holiday Inn Oshawa Whitby Conference Centre. Harper’s Dinning room is well known in Oshawa for an excellent Sunday brunch, Harpers Lounge is a perfect place to relax with friends or business associates to enjoy a beverage or a snack. Harper’s is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and room service. If you are looking to go out for dinner Oshawa has a variety of franchised and family run restaurants, our front desk staff would be happy to make suggestions.

10. Q: Where is General Motors?

A: The Holiday Inn Oshawa Whitby Conference Centre is the closest hotel to the General Motors plant located on Park Street in Oshawa. From the hotel turn left onto Bloor Street, and then left onto Park Road South. It will only take 5 minutes to drive. The General Motors head office is located on Colonel Sam Drive, from the hotel turn left onto Bloor Street, turn left onto Farewell Street; turn left onto Colonel Sam Drive.

11. Q: Where is the GM Centre?

A: The GM Centre is located only 10 minutes from the Holiday Inn on Athol Street. In the Fall and Winter catch the excitement of an Oshawa Generals Hockey game, or year round check out the website for exciting concerts or special events.
